Friends of Newtown Seniors
Friends of Newtown Seniors is an all volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to helping the Newtown Community address issues that affect the lives and well-being of seniors.
Our organization was formed in the spirit of the “thousand points of light” movement suggested many years ago by President George H. W. Bush.
Thank you to Maplewood Senior Living at Newtown for sponsoring this membership.
We are a group of individuals taking the initiative to improve conditions for all seniors in Newtown. This is a huge undertaking which will require a broad based effort. It is our observation that although there are some meaningful programs in place which support seniors, they are poorly coordinated and in some cases inadequate to meet the needs of Newtown’s large senior community.
Our webpage provides further information and in particular articulates our mission. We hope you will join us in our endeavors to keep seniors informed and to promote the well- being of seniors in every aspect of their lives.
“A great nonprofit doesn’t fix problems, it reveals the power of a community to solve them.”
