Resiliency Center of Newtown
The Resiliency Center of Newtown is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers long-term healing to those impacted by the tragic events of December 14, 2012 and was created to help these individuals reach their full potential. The organization provides free and confidential trauma-informed assistance and referral services, along with community outreach programs of various kinds designed to support the following community members: Sandy Hook Elementary School Families All school teachers and staff members (including bus drivers, coaches, instructors, volunteers, etc.) All first responders, clergy and volunteers All Newtown residents and the greater community impacted by December 14, 2012 The goal is to help people adapt to stressful events in a healthy and flexible way. The Resiliency Center of Newtown helps individuals normalize their reaction to a very senseless act. The center has created an approachable, community-based environment to help people connect with others and encourage the healing process.
