To provide the quality child care services we strive to achieve, we create appropriate activities for the educational, social, emotional and physical development of all children entrusted in our care. Our philosophy is modeled on the practices and beliefs endorsed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
On March 13, 2020, Merryhill Child Care Center, Inc. temporarily closed our center in response to COVID-19 for the health and safety of our children, families, and staff. We were thrilled to reopen the center on June 1, 2020 with new health and safety protocols and procedures in place.
One year later (to the day!), we are excited to announce the launch of our incredible new website www.merryhillcenter.com, which was designed by Jbird Web Design, a local Newtown business who was wonderful to work with and completely captured the look and feel of our center. Our website features beautiful photos taken by the talented Neasa Waaler of Neasa Ann Photography, another local Newtown business and a parent of Merryhill alumni.
We’d love you to take a look at our new website to see all that our center has to offer at www.merryhillcenter.com.
6 weeks to 6 years.
At Merryhill particular care is taken when selecting staff. We look for caregivers who are responsive to young children and highly motivated to help them grow and develop according to our philosophy.
When choosing teachers for each program area, we seek out qualifications and traits essential in providing quality child care, including previous child care experience, a high level of education, maturity, friendliness, patience and a nurturing heart.
Our teachers are actively involved in training seminars and are required to dedicate a percentage of their hours each year to further their education. Each member of our staff is given the opportunity to plan exciting and creative programs for our children.
For safety precautions, each teacher is certified in Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR. A senior staff member is on duty at all times during the center’s hours of operation. In addition, we have a registered nurse who reports to the center on a weekly basis and remains on call for emergency situations.
A pediatric dentist, physician, social service worker, and educational consultant are also available as needed.
